A buy-side Deal Leader’s role in the M&A process is to originate acquisition opportunities from cold prospects, introduce them to a buyer and bring the deal to offer stage.
The profile for this role is someone excited by the transaction process and with exceptional sales skills. The position requires persistence & discipline, attention to detail, emotional communication, good critical thinking skills and the ability to negotiate.
Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment.
Upon joining you’ll begin with a comprehensive 3-month training program to introduce you to all the aspects of the buy-side M&A process.
Key responsibilities are: working with business buyers to establish and agree and realistic acquisition criteria, sourcing off-market acquisition opportunities, cold calling acquisition targets to start negotiations, market research, client account management, maintaining good relationships with both business buyers and sellers, seeing that revenue and deal targets are met, providing a thorough handover of each deal to our senior negotiations team and facilitating the exchange of documents between buyer and seller.
Previous M&A experience or experience as a sell-side broker is preferred. Remuneration for a buy-side deal leader is significantly more lucrative than its sell-side equivalent, if interested, please submit your application and call us to discuss further.

In your role as a Business Acquisitions Specialist, you’ll be the first point of contact for new clients and will need to work with the client to establish the acquisition criteria for their search and explain the M&A process.
Dealing with up to 100 enquiries per month, your first step will be to search our list of off-market sellers to see if the type of acquisition is something we can deliver on.
Key responsibilities include; establishing clear and realistic acquisition criteria, explaining our fee structure and service agreements to the client, ensuring that the client has sufficient funds to proceed with the planned acquisition.
For this role you’ll need great telephone and face to face negotiation skills, good organization and people skills.
This is a client facing role with a sales focus and your success will be dependent on your ability to onboard the best business buyers for our team to work with.
Previous M&A experience working as a deal leader or other type of financial sales role is desirable.
Remuneration consists of a basic salary and quarterly bonus for hitting revenue targets. OTE £46,000 – £54,000. (66% of targets have been achieved in this role in the past 12 months)
